Thermostat repair questions
Does a blank thermostat mean it is bad?
No. Missing equipment power, a blown low-voltage fuse, open safety switch, wiring fault or drained batteries can create the same symptom.
Why is its temperature different from another thermometer?
Sensor placement, sunlight, wall temperature, airflow and device accuracy matter. We evaluate meaningful differences in context.
Can damaged thermostat wiring be repaired?
Accessible damage may be repairable. Concealed cable damage or insufficient conductors may require a new cable or approved alternative.
Why does the system run after I turn it off?
Some blower operation is normal for residual heat or protection. Continued outdoor or heating operation can indicate control, relay or communicating-system behavior needing diagnosis.
Should I repair or replace the thermostat?
We compare the actual fault, compatibility, age, desired features and cost. Replacement will not solve a problem located elsewhere in the system.
